I don't consider myself a religious person but I do believe in God and his awesome powers. I find that prayer always calms me, even if I'm not sure whether I'm praying "correctly," if my prayers are worth anything at all, or if I'm praying for the right thing. I seem to second guess my simple act of conversing with God when really, it's this doubt that kills the connection with Him, and blinds me from what it is I am truly seeking. I was doubting if my prayers even worked at all, because I had been constantly praying and praying but had seen no change. It was only last Friday that God told me (through my good friend Seph), that the change I wanted wasn't to be made around me, but in myself. So thank you Lord, for always having my back, and Seph for being amazing without even knowing it!
The other day my mom gave my sister Trixie this One-Minute Pocket Bible for Women and she shared a couple of sayings that caught her attention. I found all that she had said to be true. Here are the ones that I agree with:
Appearance: People see what you are before they hear what you are.
Character: You cannot be what you're not, but you can become what you're not.
Crisis: Crisis always occurs at the curve of change.
Depression: Struggle is the proof you have not yet been conquered.
Desire: The proof of desire is pursuit. You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue.
Discipline: Champions are willing to do things they hate, to create something they love. (TRUE!!)
Faith: When you want something you've never had, you'e got to do something you've never done. (AGAIN, TRUE!!)
Friendship: When God wants to bless you, He puts a person in your life. :)
Loneliness: Loneliness is not the absence of affection, but the absence of direction. (INDEED!)
Victory: Champions simply make an extra attempt.
Wealth: Wealth is when you have a lot of something you love.
Haha! Seems like I've had my dose of today's life lessons. Here's to growing up :)
PS: Listen to P.O.T's Have a piece of this, either the original or remastered version. It's apt for today's entry. (Support your local artist!)
"Desire: The proof of desire is pursuit. You will never possess what you are unwilling to pursue."
